Haolu Wang (王昊鹭) is a Chinese-born writer-director based in London.
She is a graduate from the National Film and Television School (NFTS) with an MA in Directing Fiction.
Her works explore psychological and emotional journeys of modern women. She creates immersive, subjective narratives, often blurring the boundaries between reality and imagination. Her storytelling sensibility leans towards psychological suspense and surrealism.
Her NFTS grad film The Pregnant Ground is a psychological fantasy about a woman going through trauma and loss, starring Lu Huang (Little Fires Everywhere). The film premiered at Palm Springs Shortfest.
She is a BAFTA China Scholarship recipient, mentored by Alex Garland, and an alumna of Berlinale Talents.
She is developing feature film projects, including a sci fi set in the UK and a psychological thriller set in China.
